Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic home. Jacqueline's dad Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka. There are two older brothers and two younger brothers. Due to unrest in Lanka, her parents relocated to Bahrain during the 1980s. After graduating from the schooling in Bahrain she won the Scholarship to the University of Sydney to pursue a Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. In 2006, she won the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March, 2006. She also participated at Miss Universe 2006. Her first appearance on television was after she won her the Miss Sri Lanka title. Her program, Lanka Business Report, covers Sri Lankan business. Padukone had the honor of being a daughter of badminton champ Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew as a child in Bangalore and is a native of Copenhagen. She was a badminton player at the national championships as an teen, but she gave her sports career up to become a model. Padukone's native language is Konkani. The model is Mangalorean by origin. Her ancestors come from the village Padukone in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district in Karnataka state, which is located in India. Prakash Padukone is her father as well as a former badminton pro who has international acclaim. Her mother works as an agent of travel.
